The impact of the corona pandemic on youth work in Europe

What is this survey about, and who is it for?

This survey is about the impact of the Corona pandemic on youth work across Europe, and how policy and society could help youth work navigate the effects of the pandemic and get through this crisis. It is conducted by the RAY Network – the open Network for the Research-based Analysis of European Youth Programmes. Whether you are (normally) enjoying the benefits of youth work, or (normally) offering or organising youth work: we want to hear from you, and would like to thank you for your time!

What do we mean by youth work?

Youth work in this context is understood as working with and for young people in a variety of contexts and spaces, on a wide range of themes relevant to young people, and through a diversity of youth work structures and methods. Open access youth work in youth centres run by a local authority; recreational youth work in sports clubs run by a non-governmental organisation; detached youth work in public spaces run by a non-profit foundation; mobile youth work in libraries run by a think-tank; tinkering youth work in a makers lab run by an informal group of young people – all that and more is youth work.

How will we handle your response?

We use the open-source survey software LimeSurvey for this survey, which we host on our own server. We will not ask you for any personal details that could identify you, such as your name, date of birth, physical or electronic address. We do not track your click pattern or online behaviour in any way. We use only first-party, non-persistent cookies so that we can keep track of your responses until you submit all of them. We do not store your IP number used to access the survey, or the referrer URL that brought you here. If you wish, you can also use a TOR browser to access the survey.

How long will this take?

It will likely take between 15 and 20 minutes to respond to the survey, but some questions might also make you think a little longer.
